Helios Web combines Helios, the ancient Greek personification of the Sun, with the idea of a vast network of solar influence extending throughout space. In Greek mythology, Helios traveled across the heavens each day, carrying the light of the Sun across the world. Modern astronomy reveals a different kind of solar reach, with the Sun influencing the entire Solar System through gravity, radiation, charged particles, and magnetic fields. The continuous flow of particles known as the solar wind travels outward from the Sun and creates the enormous region called the heliosphere. Within this region, planets, moons, and spacecraft exist inside an environment shaped by solar activity. Disturbances originating at the Sun can travel millions of miles through space and interact with planetary atmospheres and magnetic fields.
