Quantum Sea is not a single formal term in modern physics, but it draws from several real ideas used to describe the strange behavior of matter and fields at the quantum level. One historical example is physicist Paul Dirac’s Dirac Sea, an early model developed to explain negative energy states and the existence of antimatter. Modern quantum field theory instead describes empty space as a quantum vacuum, which is not simply an absolute nothingness but the lowest energy state of quantum fields that extend throughout space. Particles are understood as excitations of these underlying fields, meaning the apparently empty universe still possesses a fundamental quantum structure.
