Zodiacal Light is a faint glow visible in the night sky when sunlight reflects from tiny particles of dust spread throughout the inner Solar System. The dust is concentrated near the plane in which the planets orbit the Sun, causing the light to appear along the zodiac as a pale triangular column extending upward from the horizon. It is most easily seen from very dark locations shortly after evening twilight or before morning twilight, when the sky is free from artificial light. Much of the dust responsible for the glow comes from comets, with additional material produced by collisions between asteroids and other small bodies.
