A light cone represents all of the events in the universe that could have influenced an observer in the past or could potentially be influenced by that observer in the future. Because information and physical influence cannot travel faster than the speed of light, events located in Elsewhere cannot presently affect you, and you cannot presently affect them. These events may be completely real and occurring within the same universe, yet there is too much separation in space and too little time for any signal to pass between you.
