Inclination
Inclination is the angle at which an astronomical object's orbit is tilted relative to a reference plane. It is one of the fundamental measurements astronomers use to describe the orientation of an orbit in space. Planets generally travel close to the same orbital plane, while comets, asteroids, and other bodies may cross it at dramatic angles. Where an inclined orbit intersects that plane, it creates ascending and descending nodes.
