MULTIVERSE
A Science-Related Art Exhibit
Recent Work by Whitney Wolf
New York Arcade, Winter Park
May 7 - June 22, 1990

Transcription:

Enjoy the fascinating world of physics as seen through the imagination of artist, Whitney Wolf. For years, Wolf has explored possible visualizations of scientific ideas such as chaos, gravitation and expanding space.

Physicists themselves depend primarily upon mathematical models to describe quantum reality. This leaves room for an artist to interpret the data creatively, opening up the multiverse to non-scientists as well as those scientists who would appreciate dynamic and colorful representations of their theories. "Multiverse" is a recently coined term to replace "universe" in cases where scientists need to discuss the possibility of more than one kind of universe.

The paintings, sculpture and lithographs in the exhibit invite the viewer to imagine the unknown, while enriching his or her understanding of contemporary science.
